Reporting to two dedicated audit partners, you will be responsible for handling a block of clients turning over up to £20m, with annual recurring fees of £350K - £450K. Responsibilities range from resourcing assignments through to file review and completion. The role also involves responsibility for budget setting and billing. The applicant should be ACA or ACCA qualified, with, preferably, 3-4 year’s post qualification experience in a mixed accounts / assurance role. Portfolio management experience is definitely preferred, although applicants might be in a more junior management role in their current position. Ideally will be “top 50” trained and used to a varied range of client businesses, preferably in the owner managed business sector. We require people who are flexible, confident, committed and used to dealing face to face with clients. Must be solutions orientated, a team player and have excellent communication skills. Should be numerate and highly computer literate with basic knowledge in personal and corporate tax.


You will already have experience of preparing tax returns for individuals and corporations, including CIS and sub-contractors. In addition to the statutory returns, you will also have good experience in preparing VAT returns, budgets, management accounts, and cash flow forecasts for clients. On the audit side, you will have good experience of supporting audits, producing schedules and setting up audit files.

The duties will include:-
• Preparation of VAT returns from source documentation.
• Preparation of tax returns for sole traders, partnerships and higher paid employees.
• Preparation of corporation tax returns for small companies.
• Preparation of capital gains tax computations.
Desirable:-
• Advanced use of Excel and proficient in Word.
• Experience of payroll, including year end returns.

• Experience with HMRC online services.
• Liaising with clients and HMRC regarding tax compliance matters
